“Latest” Mission – V5.04

Yes, I have once again been working, albeit very briefly, on a few website changes recently and at the moment there are four to report on today – the forth of March. A summary follows:

Firstly I have given the search bar a little makeover from the fierce and intrusive black that it was previously to the much more subtle hovering box. A change for the better but I am not finished with this yet…

Secondly the Contact page was in desperate need of some TLC on the contact form. Things have been made a bit chunkier whereas before it appeared to be invisible.

Thirdly and a brand new addition to the site, in February I was just learning about RSS, this is actually helping me find some kind of zen with my day to day internet activities and now I can catch up with everything much quicker and check for updates of my favourite sites almost instantly! Fabulous! Therefore with this new knowledge comes a  new addition of a RSS feed which currently sits awkwardly on the menu bar at the top of the page but this allows people to subscribe to my latest additions.

Forth and finally was my “latest” mission. The aim was:
To change the latest posts (at the top of the homepage) to be ordered by post number rather than date. This should in theory reveal back posts…
But what does this all mean?
Well basically I post my photographs into the day that they were taken – it helps to keep my life as documented here in logical order! So as far as any visitors would be aware there have been new posts everyday which I am doing with for the MMIX project but they won’t be aware that I am actively posting photos and content in the past as well.
So this is a bit of a revolution and a very welcome one!!
Instead of showing the last 18 days’ photos it now shows recent edits like from my time in Paris and Sweden and all the other random bits and pieces in between that I pick for uploading! All the latest posts can still be found if you delve a little deeper* down the rabbit hole at the footer of my site…

I just thought of this as a potential problem today after doing a couple of Paris edits last night but then figured that they probably wouldn’t be discovered because they were posted in July last year. A problem which I identified earlier today and solved this evening.

“Problem solving” is what the experimental nature of my website is all about really, especially when it comes to the redesign of the content.

That’s all for now but expect more Problem Solving soon…
