The View – Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush!
Random Bits From This Week:
This week Johannes found out that he passed his Graphic Design course with a First class BA (Hons). Congratulations to our former housemate we all knew he would do well and I’m glad all his hard work paid off!
On Monday I found myself nearly stranded when torrential rain hit the town. My shoes at the time were completely destroyed as it were as the soles had worn away so much that they had a gaping hole in the bottom. It was coming up through the drains and caused havoc all around me. Luckily the rain passed just in time and actually I didn’t get so wet at all! However at the time that it was coming down it was the worst rain I had seen in a long time!
We watched an old season 5 episode of The X-Files and I was somewhat amazed to discover that Bernard from LOST stars in it! Now, I like Bernard but he didn’t seem to play such a good man in The X-Files! In fact he might have been killed off in the final scene?! Not so sure on that?!…
I went to get my eyes tested. My vision is getting a bit blurry at the moment so thought it best just to get it checked out. They gave me some new trial lenses but I’m not sure it helps?!
I answered one of THE most random phonecalls ever and I somehow ended up agreeing to test the brand new Rubik’s 360 Live on the Radio! I figured that since this kind of thing doesn’t happen every day, well not to me anyway so I thought that I might as well just give it a go. After the call I was both excited and terrified that I would make a complete fool of myself – not that it doesn’t happen on pretty much a daily basis anyway!
We had more moth drama but this time Anna managed to catch the creep and set it free outside.
I was relatively unaware that at some point on Tuesday I had lost one of my buttons on my new jacket – Gutted! Only had it for a week or so! I looked everywhere for it but it was only when I was on my way back into town that I miraculously stood on it! Hurray! I wouldn’t have found it otherwise! They’ve all been secured a bit better since then which should hopefully prevent any more losses! Next time I might not be so lucky!!
I hadn’t picked up the Rubik’s Cube in a very long time so decided to give it another shot as some kind of preparation for the radio show and managed to complete it without any help in under 7 minutes. I felt like that was some kind of personal victory for me because I will never be the person who finishes it in seconds or with just one hand or any other crazy show off things worthy of YouTube etc but it’s just good to know that I can actually still do it!
I had to get up earlier than ever to get ready to go on the Radio. It was an interesting and frustrating experience but I enjoyed myself although it was all a bit of a daunting situation and I didn’t think like I was being myself just because it was so early in the morning but I’m still glad that I did it!
I received my new clobber that I need for my holiday. Finally some shoes with soles, my feet can maybe stay dry the next time I’m running through the rain! Really love my new blue plimsolls, at just £10 they were a bit of a bargain!
My swim shorts weren’t quite as fitting as I wanted them to be and I ordered a Small. That means that I am going to have to get some XS sized shorts. I don’t like the idea that I am extra small in anything but I fear that if I keep the small ones that I would end up losing them in the sea, I can just picture that embarrassment and really don’t want to be in that situation for real. I tried the XS ones and they still seemed too big so we even looked to try the XXS ones which I could fit into but they weren’t too comfortable. I like these shorts but they are very badly designed because they can’t be tightened! I’ll just have to wait and see how bad they are when I’m actually swimming!
I had a very close shave to tidy myself up a bit for the trip – don’t wanna look like a tramp!!
I sometimes think that the reason flies avoid being swatted is because they are very good at predicting the future! Hmmmm… Maybe…
I don’t know why but Anna always has to debate how many x’s to use in messages. “is one enough?” “but they’ve used two” such a silly girl!!… x
We packed and got ready on Thursday night but this almost seemed too simple, we’re normally so unorganised for our little adventures that leads to a stressful night before we depart and I found it very hard to come to terms with being ready so early considering we weren’t due to leave until Sunday!
So then I was in a bit of a funny mood on Friday as I didn’t know what I really needed to do before we leave.
I got a star ring but didn’t know that Gregg has the exact same one. On Saturday we ended up wearing them together – like brothers or something?!…
I had serious words with a random young boy who thought it would be socially acceptable to loudly call his friend a c*** right next to a woman and her two children. I saw the absolute disgust on the lady’s face as she dragged her little cherubs away from this hideous boy. Well, I was fuming with him for using words like that especially at his age but also to say things like that in front of children, I dread to think if they were to pick up on what he had said- this foul word should not be part of any child’s vocabulary! So I stepped up and took him on face to face just to try and make him see that this was a completely unacceptable way to behave! To my surprise I think I may have just got through to him as he later wanted to try and appologise to me but at the end of the day it isn’t me he needs to appologise to and the woman at this point was long gone! After the confrontation some spectators suggested that I should have just punched him in the face but I don’t think that would have helped and I’m not a violent person anyway! And so that was my major drama for the week!
Saturday night and we were just about ready to roll so we managed to meet up with Ash, Jo & Darren which was great fun!!
On the train to Glasgow and it’s soooo cold! This is supposed to be the start of my Summer holiday and now I think that maybe I should have packed a jumper!! The weather forecast isn’t too great either… But we’ll just have to wait and see what happens when we get there!!
